hAPPY 30TH sTAR wARS!!

man alive, it just takes a little thing like a 30th anniversary to remind u how much u love the starwars! soo goood, absolutley loved return of the jedi when i was younger, all those crazy aliens and creatures...jabbas palace was an amazing and scary place for a 5 year old....heck, it still is at 28 :) ...anyways, i couldnt let the 30th anniversary of sw slip by without doing some kinda sketch...so i knocked this up quickly on my lunch break, a quick little birthday card from me to george ;)
Hopefully i will get the chance in the next couple of weeks to do a proper starwars pick that i can spend more time on, really wanna draw a biker scout, i loved the speeder bikes....

da-da-da DAAAAAAA.......bababa bap ba ( bada bada ba badap baaaa ) -Spiderman, and his amazing friends!

..or something like that, every saturday morning before i had to go on the weekly food shop with my folks, i would sit infront of the tv glued to that cartoon...awesome show, loved the theme tune, fire star and iceman were cool, and their appartment with the secret statue switch was awesome :) I still remember drawing lots of spidey pics back then, particularly one with the lizard....I'll have to pester the folks to see if they still have any to stick up here.....anyways, still lovin the spiderman, saw spidey 3 last week, and it really doesnt deserve all the bad reviews. It might not blow u away as much as the first 2, and sure there are a couple of weak moments ( english news reporter = paaaaiiin ) but overall it's still a great movie which i really enjoyed, there's some awesome geeky moments.

anyways, been wanting to do a spidey pic for a while, so finally got round to colouring this one...it's no where near finished yet, and the background is essentially just a scaled-up post it note sketch, but goin well so far i think! Hope it gets all yer spidey senses tingling! :)

Sleep..need sleep..but must post this first :) Just finished another 3 pages of Astrofunk, and these are gonna be the last full pages I put online for a good while. Mainly cuz I want to try and get the 24 page issue finished this summer, get it published somehow, then flog it to all of u lovely people :) Or any punter that will part with there hard earned cash for comic goodness. Anyways, I got alot of pages to go draw/colour, so here's 10 through 12, let me know what u think, I'll be back soon with a new pin up or 2 and some sticker action.

Bad Bad bad dudes for ya, this here trio are gonna be introduced in the next 4 pages of AstroFunk , and they aint the nicest of peoples....really looking forwards to finishing the pages, and i cant wait for some action to kick in so the 8 bit guns can get some action......anyways, lemme know what u think, and the next update should be actual comic page goodness :)

These are crazy crazy crazy CRAZY NIGHTS!! - kiss it up folks, 4 pages of astrofunkiness for your viewing pleasure....man alive, taking a lot of work this 'make a comic in my spare time' shenanigans, but lovin every minute of it, and almost half way through this issue....deadline is July for finishing the roughly 22 -26 pages, but as u can see that means that my dearly beloved blog here doesn't get updated very frequently....pretty much all i am doing is this comic right now, if i'm not roughing out new pages or colouring up others, then i'm working on a pinup or logo....but, i do have a little pinup of the one and only Peter Parker in full swing ( awesome pun intended ) ..so i should get that up next week....anyways, hope u enjoy these pages, lemme know whatchyall think, and the next 4 should be up real soon, with a bit of a change of scenario....yup, it's bad dude time....see ya in the Future!

Hey guys - AstroFunk Pinup time, still working on another based on the two roughs posted previously, but this one kinda distracted me for a couple of days...now that this is done ( and now that I have finished Twilight Princess , best game ever ) I can crack on with finishing another bundle of pages...lemme know what u think of the pin-up, I want to get more done for individual characters like this.

Ahoy there! Couple of small updates, all astrofunk flavoured. Currently in the middle of cleaning up pages 6 and 7 , and working up the next few pages after that...but I wanted to re-work the cover design, and that got me into thinking about getting a pin-up done, one image that kinda showed off the main characters well....so got a couple of designs here that I'm gonna cleanup and probably colour, the one on the right will be first as I've already got that ready for colouring.....the photo was me trying to create a stencil for an astrofunk logo....it went pretty well, that's my second attempt, but could probably do with afew tweaks. More pages of the funk coming soon, adios!

MORE ASTROFUNK

Hi, as promised, pages 4 and 5 of the astro flavoured funk are now up, enjoy and hit me with the feedback, i gotta go get crackin on the next 3 pages, I've been workin on the story and this is lookin like a full size issue now with roughly 20 pages...dang! :) - Comictastic!!!

Ok, not really anything to do with sketching in the slightest, but this I'm just a tiny bit excited about this and have had a bundle of requests to get a peek at this picy...so anyways, this is my 13 week old kiddo, currently dancing away in my amazing girlfriends belly.....got this scan on thursday, crazy stuff, looks like their gonna be a dancer, little arms and legs were going crazy. Looking forwards to when the bump is bigger and i can play them lottsa stevie wonder, get it all funked up before it arrives :)

So I'd better try to finish AstroFunk before July 20th then ;) oh, and pages 4 and 5 are gonna be online on wednesday....c u then!

ASTROFUNK is GO!

Woo!! Finally got pages 1 to 3 of AstroFunk done, after a big push last night. I'm pretty pleased with the results, and am looking forwards to finishing off this story....i reckon it's probably about 10 to 15 pages max, but there shouldn't be as much of a wait for the rest of it, pages 4 and 5 will be up in just over a week, then the rest should trickle through gradually. I have a couple of other astrofunk flavoured story ideas, so once this one's dun there's plenty more i wanna get straight into.

Anyways, feels good to have some comic stuff dun, i was thinkin' about it recently, and drawing comics is something I've been doing pretty much forever, i mean i was always drawing when i was growing up, but every now and again i would try to draw a short comic, and sticky tape it together to show to my friends. Basically i flippin love comics, and i hope you enjoy astrofunk! :)

Happy years beginningness! Hope you all had a great holiday, i personally was too busy eating and drinking to even think about drawing, so no sketches today :) However i did find time to play a little of my new Wii console, and there's nuthin more fun than creating your mii persona and battering each other at the sports games....so here's a glimpse at my wierd holidays, that's my brother in law, my sister, me, and the missus ( to be ) , who it turns out is an amazing boxer! Unbeatable! ..hopefully i will have a video up here later today or tomorrow of our crazy boxing antics....

ayways, hope your all full of energy for lots of 07 sketching! My first 3 comic pages are so close to being dun that i can taste the finish line...so i hope to have them up this week! Anyways, i'm having a lot of fun doing them, comics rock my wii world. I think i will also stick up a quick guide to what comics i am picking up these days, there's alot of awesome stuff out there that i gots to recommend!

Astrofunk is here...well almost....thought I'd share my working on this, i was working on some A3 pages, and they're going well, but obviously take longer to draw the bigger the hot dang paper...anyways, I had an idea the other night for a shorter story, like an AstroFunk intro-taster teaser-thing-umy. Anyways, if your easily bored or don't think comics are awesome, then stop reading now :)

I had a very small rough 2 min idea of the pages on paper, so yesterday morning I got the 3 pages thumbnailed out on post-it notes, workin small and quick
















Then I photocopied these up to A4 size, so I can then use them as a guide for working up the pages to the next level...as you can see, there's a couple of changes made at this point, shots that don't quite work ( saved by post it notes again ) but eventually i got there ( i think by this point it's one in the morning and although I'm not yawning I know I should be :)















So that's astrofunk so far...I'm pretty pleased with that as a days spare time work.....next stage is cleaning up these pages with the final line, and getting them coloured...although when i say colour it's gonna be pretty much black and white...oh yeah, these pages may become 2+3 instead of 1+2, but whatever numbers they are I should get the finished 3 pages up real soon!

Been getting into astrofunk bit more this week, currently working on the first 4 pages on some a3 bristo board at home, so should get those online in very near future...what i gots 4ya today is just some development work on the cover, not final yet , needs tweaked and cleaned a little, but thought i'd drop it into the blog mixer. Lemme know whats u think. Should also get some character sheets up soon. It's a weekend of drawing for me!! Adios muchachos!

rAWK! This weekend, I took some time out from beating the un-living crap out of zombies, and ventured into the big smoke of londinium, only to bump into one of me hero's - Noodle from Gorillaz! I was mesmerized as you can see, i think i was stood like that for 45 minutes :) What a gal!

bLIMEY! Halloween is past and its November already.....and i slowly edge that little bit closer to actually doing somekinda comic thingy....this is just a bunch of my recenty development sketches for astro funk, i have the first 3 pages pretty much worked out, gonna draw them up very soon hopefuly, just tryin to completely lock down the character style, which has been fun but tuff, not finished yet. But almost there... plus, pretty busy designing tshirts, trying to find a new flat, playing DeAd rISing ( u can pick up a frying pan, stick it on the cooker, let it heat up, then burn the zombies faces!! ) ...but astro funk will happen... u guys need to hassle me more about it :) - tell me i'm a lazy git, kick my ass!

Woo!! Thought I'd let you all know that the new Fanboy website is up and running! Mornin' all. Bit of messin about this week, not had loadsa spare time, but managed to find a spare hour or two to knock this up quickly. I finally got around to reading the orignal Philip K Dick book 'Do androids dream of Electric Sheep' , which was great, quite diferent to Blade Runner in some areas, but really enjoyable. Anyway, just some photoshop fun at the end of a workin day :)

This week...i 'ave bin mostly eating.....pizza :) been a busy one at work this week, so practically no sketching dun, but did have a birthday card to do ( warning: cuteness within ) and managed to make a little bit of progress texturing my lil' robot and his walkdog. So hopefully get him finished soon and actually get some drawing done - one the train tonight to scotland again, so no excuses if i dont have anythign to show next week :)

October already, so that hopefully means i have a halloween party to make a costume for soon.... as for this week, been trying to fix a broken pc, funnily enough crayons weren't much use so it aint going fast....but i have salvaged afew things from my old hard drive, one of which is this Lil'robot guy and his Dog ( i'll be your dog, a boogy boogy woogy boogy ) ...eh....well, a dog that happens to be a walkman, cassette style....anyways , so i started this guy a couple of months or so ago, but never got him finished, so this here is the state he's in now...almost dun with the model, gotta unwrap all of him before i apply that smooth button :) which you can see i've dun test runs for on the heavier mesh. Should hopefuly have him textured real soon, then gonna just chuck him in some illustration stuff at first, maybe animate him eventually one day far away.....

oh, i may have to give him a skateboard or rollerblades :)

hI. Not been doing very much sketching this week - due to 2 things - 1:Lego starwars 2 still being amazing, the bounty hunter missions are swweeet, and -2: Painting the above xbox 360 faceplate for my flatmates birthday... she's a fan of my rabbit, don't worry i didn't force that design on her :) Turned out not bad, just needs a protective coat of spray varnish i reckon, but good practice for future faceplate designing, might have a go at my own one next.

Suck it up folks. Hot nutz poster action, courtesy of a rainy afternoon in Glasgow. What better to do than fiddle around in photoshop. Anyways, went through a few variations but I'm really happy with the final poster - just the actual comic to do now! :) gonna get some of that dun tonight probably.....thanks to Rowan for the mac time and help, hope this gets u all excited about the comic. If not, get the heck off my blog!!! ;)

Just been to an hour of life drawing - man i'm rusty, need to improve alot, and luckily i should manage to catch this class pretty much every week for the next month and a bit.....did a mixture of one minute and ten minute poses, prefer the one minute stuff myself....more nakedness next week then hopefully!

Hi. So that colour bunny pic is coming, it's just about finished, just messing about with colour....in the meantime, here's a sneak peak at some upcoming new stuff. My mate and I are about to launch a website selling our tshirt designs, and the site is gonna also have free desktops and icons. So i thought i'd put up a quick preview, of some of the work in progress on my desktop ideas, plus a look at one of the first finished ones ....it's not desktop sized, you'll have to wait for the site to go online for that. We're hoping to be online in about a month, with tshirts getting printed as we speak. So the second it's online I'll make a big announcement here, and you can all buy tshirts and tell your friends to buy tshirts, and make me rich. Please :)

hI. Another weekend, another train journey....but not so much drawing this time, i spent most of it reading 'the curious incident of the dog in the night time'....really good book, would recommend it. I did however find time to squeeze in afew quick bunny sketches, with socks keeping their ears warm...as you do. Colour picture coming soon, tonight or tomorrow, based on one of the sketches.

Yo! I'm Back! ..my blog went a bit crazy there for a couple of days, and wasn't working at all, so I'm sorry if anybody was tryin to have a peek at my stuff but got jibberish or nowt. Warning! Explicit material within! naughty word ahoy! Look away kiddies, lest u go blind. ...ok, you were warned....i promised zombie squirrels....and ..well, their almost here....but what i do have is the poster for the zombie squirrel comic i've been working on - 'NUTZ'. It was gonna be 5 pages but over the course of the train journey became 8 or 9. We'll see. Anyways, gotta pretty much all the pages figured out, couple of tweaks here and there then i'll rough them all out on post-it-notes and blow them up to near a4 for cleanup. In the meantime you have my scribble fest which is somehow gonna become this comic, man i love drawin squirrels :)

oK...so zombies squirrels are coming, but will have to wait till tomorrow...until then, here's a quick colour piece based on some museum ant eater sketching, with headphones thrown in for good measure. Feel free to guess what song he's listening to , although it shouldn't be very hard....it's a quality tune. Anyways, i seem to be obsessed with animals wearing headphones, so there's another guy coming soon in a similar vein to this one. Enjoy!

I might work up a couple of the strangethings on these pages, although the drawings seemed to drift into Pants territory quite alot, so if u dont like y-fronts then don't click on those thumbnails! :)

I would just like to add, i did try to draw actually in edinburgh, but quel supris - it started to rain just as i was in the middle of sketching a couple of buskers on rose street, ...dang. Not gonna bother posting a soggy half sketch up here :)

Ok...eh....well, on the train into lundinium on sunday ( which is a boooring hour long from chertsey ) i started to draw....started with me remembering the long armed monkey from the museum a week or two ago, and morphed into this strange guy who is all about the lovin. I like the sketch so thought i'd give it a quick half hour photoshop job, nuthin much, just somthing fun to do after a pretty tiring day at work. My eyes were practically half closed doin this, so may look at it tomorrow and think 'what the heck! ' :)
